Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about setting up and running M1 TimePilot.
Click Get Started on the site, pick a plan and create your workspace. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial — no credit card required. Plans are AED 49 / 99 / 199 per month, billed annually, and differ only by branch, employee and device limits.
No. M1 TimePilot is fully cloud-based and your ZKTeco devices push punches straight to the cloud — there's no on-site server or software to maintain. You just need a browser.
No hardware needed. Staff can check in by a face-recognition kiosk on any tablet, GPS on their phone, a rotating QR code, mobile face verification, or one-click web check-in — alongside or instead of biometric devices.
Turn any tablet or phone into a kiosk. Employees enrol their face once, then check in by looking at the camera. Blink and head-turn liveness checks stop photo spoofing, and the kiosk keeps working offline — syncing automatically when the connection returns.
Yes. Remote and hybrid employees check in from the web, GPS, or mobile face verification. Optional AI monitoring asks for a periodic selfie during the shift (with consent), and trusted-device rules hold check-ins from a new device for HR review. The super admin sets how many remote/hybrid seats each client has.
Mobile and kiosk face check-ins are matched to the employee's enrolled face, GPS check-ins are geofenced to allowed locations and radius, QR codes rotate every few seconds so a photo can't be reused, and any low-confidence punch is sent to an HR review queue before it counts toward attendance.
Branches → Departments/Areas → Devices → Employees → Timetables/Shifts/Schedules → Attendance Rules. The documentation walks through each step.
ZKTeco biometric devices that support ADMS / Cloud Push. Register the device serial in Attendance → Devices, then set the device's Cloud Server to device.m1timepilot.com, port 443, HTTPS on.
No. Use Pull Names on the device row to import existing names first, then Sync. Always Pull Names before Sync on a device that already has people, so real names aren't overwritten.
Punches from an unrecognised PIN auto-create an "Unknown <PIN>" employee so no data is lost. Open it and fill in the person's real details.
It's the numeric PIN on the biometric device. It links each punch to the employee and is used to enroll them on machines, so it must match the device.
Yes. Use the search and branch/department chips to find people, tick rows to bulk-assign department, shift, branch, device role or status, and export the whole roster (with document expiry dates) to Excel/CSV.
Open an employee → Documents & Files to upload passport, Emirates ID, visa, labour card, medical and contract with issue/expiry dates. The Document Vault (People → Documents) shows everyone's documents with colour-coded expiry badges and one-click view/download.
Yes. Night shifts (e.g. 20:00→05:00) are attributed to the shift's start date, not split across two days, and 24-hour coverage is supported.
On each timetable you set a break (as minutes, or a fixed Break in/out window that auto-calculates the minutes) and an optional overtime window. Grace, half-day and full-day thresholds are set in Attendance → Rules.
A timetable is one work period (start/end/break). A shift groups timetables (one per weekday for rosters, or one every day). A schedule assigns a shift to employees over a date range. Assign schedules by branch, department or area in one go.
Yes. Payroll is computed from processed attendance for the month — basic, allowances, OT, late penalty, deductions and net pay — and exports to Excel/PDF/CSV. Each employee has a printable payslip on your branded letterhead.
Yes. In Attendance → Rules, toggle Pay overtime and Apply late-in deduction on or off. Payroll and payslips update accordingly.
Yes. Set your MOL/Establishment ID and routing code in Tenant Profile, then download the WPS SIF bank file from the Payroll page. Gratuity (EOSB) and visa/document expiry tracking are included too.
Yes. When adding a team member (or later, per user) set Menu access (which pages they see) and Data scope (which branches/departments' data they can access). Scope is enforced across employees, attendance, schedules, payroll and reports — on the server, not just hidden.
Yes. Give an employee a self-service login from Team & Users; they use the /me portal to view their attendance and submit manual-log, leave and overtime requests for manager approval.
Yes. Every record is scoped to your company and enforced on every query. Uploaded documents are private to your company, and devices route in by serial number.
Yes. Both the marketing site and the console support English and Arabic (with right-to-left layout).
Billing is annual: one secure payment via Ziina covers 12 months and extends your subscription a full year. The price is shown per month for comparison but charged yearly (e.g. Starter AED 49/mo = AED 588/yr).
The console shows a paywall until you renew, but your data is kept safe and returns the moment you pay. You can renew or change plan any time from Admin → Billing.
Yes. Because every plan has every module, upgrading simply raises your branch/employee/device limits. Choose a higher plan from Admin → Billing whenever you grow.
